The summertime dog show season is heating up. Whether you enjoy participating with your own dog or just like to go and watch, you’ll find plenty of shows happening throughout the UK in the coming weeks. Barrel Racing is a rodeo event where horse and rider must navigate around a series of three barrels without knocking any of them down. The fastest team wins, so it’s a sport that requires skill, speed, agility, and good teamwork. This sport began in the 1940s in Texas, and has become very competitive throughout the United States. Michael Vick’s Estate Goes to the Dogs

In a befitting twist of fate, Michael Vick’s former home has been purchased by an animal rights organization and will be turned into a rehabilitation centre for dogs. Vick, former NFL quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, was convicted of running a dog fighting compound from his home, which he called “Bad Newz Kennels.” He was convicted on federal dog fighting charges in 2007, and served 18 months in jail for his misdeeds.
